The Erasmus+ National Agency of Romania joined Europe Goes Local in 2020. It had an on-line launch event on the 10th of October where the members of the EGL national working group members got together and discussed the aims and objectives of the project. The event was streamed live on Facebook so anyone interested could follow it.
The reasons for joining EGL were in the first place to increase the quality of youth work at a local level in Romania (including to support our E+ and ESC beneficiaries and applicants with a strong quality framework), and to support the recognition of local youth work activities. Strengthening the cooperation between the public sector and the private one is also a key aim.
Among the future plans of the Romanian EGL group: promoting and piloting the Charter and the Changemakers Kit with as many municipalities and organisations in Romania; determining municipalities to adopt elements of the Charter in their local youth policies and strategies; including elements of the Charter in the process of certification of cities as Youth Friendly Cities (an initiative in which PONT Group is involved). At international level to host the next EGL conference in 2021.
