The organisation and practice of local youth work needs …

to transform aims and objectives into coherent strategies and plans.

In order to reach aims and objectives it is necessary to have long term strategies as well as concrete plans. A strategy for reaching out to new groups of young people might for example include the development of digital tools and to set of resources for outreached youth work. The strategy then needs to be concretized in plans containing answers to the questions; What should be done, by whom and when. Both strategies and plans need to be continuously followed up and revised.

    • Are there related plans, stating what should be done, by whom and when?
  • Does local youth work act according to strategies and plans or is it primarily reacting ad hoc to situations that occur, being victims of circumstances?
  • What are the risks in not having a long-term strategy and related plans?
